Wireless communications is a critical component of public safety communications. As such, many of our public safety engagements involve needs assessment, planning and design, risk mitigation and troubleshooting, and/ or implementation of radio communications solutions to include both voice and data wireless communications. Each of our engagements, including Washington, DC, Fairfax County, VA and New York City, NY, contain a voice/data wireless evaluation and solution. We know the requirements for future systems including P25 compliance, narrowband and developments regarding the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands.
Wireless communications extend beyond the radio voice requirements of the past. Mobile Computer Terminals placed in Public Safety vehicles are expanding bandwidth requirements and have the capability to provide more information to the responder. Automated Vehicle locater (AVL) and Automated Vehicle routing are all dependent on wireless communications to the vehicle. We have supported our clients in defining their requirements in this environment and developing solutions based on both public and private resourced wireless infrastructure.
Increasingly, interoperability has become a crucial issue with a variety of initiatives being undertaken. Winbourne Consulting has had a number of key engagements associated with wireless interoperability and we have gained extensive knowledge of the variety of options being considered to address this issue. Winbourne Consulting is engaged in some of the most complex communications interoperability environments in the country. These include involvement in the New York City and National Capital Region initiatives.
Winbourne Consulting provides technology and management consulting services to help government agencies and private sector corporations accomplish their goals. We work on technology, business and operational issues, identify problem areas, and partner with our clients to plan and implement effective solutions.
