What is the Safe Cities

Smart Cities Movement?

Over the past 3-5 years, a term has come to dominate the public safety and technology international market place, —this term is referred to as the Safe City concept. NIBRS Compliance is Coming:

Are You Ready?

By January 1, 2021, all U.S. law enforcement agencies will be required to use the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) for collecting and reporting crime-incident data to the FBI. NIBRS replaces the current Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program protocol. Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) that have already transitioned to NIBRS, or are in the process, have little need to fear this seemingly far-off deadline. Rather, it’s the agencies that haven’t yet begun the process — or worse, don’t even know what NIBRS is — which need to take action today. Educating yourself is key, and this report will help you better understand NIBRS and what to expect on your journey to NIBRS compliance.

Strategic Planning

Building the Bridge Between Public Safety Operations and Technology

John Naisbitt, the author of Megatrends, said, “Strategic planning is worthless unless there is first a strategic vision.” It has been our experience that public safety command staffs do a very good job developing a vision for the future services needed by their communities. Their vision forms the foundation for their operational strategic plan, but often the planning process seems to end there. The end result is a gap between the operational strategic plan and the technology needed to achieve the plan. A public safety technology strategic plan bridges that gap and fosters the opportunity for operational success.

Public Private Partnerships (PPP) for FirstNet
